put in a front end and chack there is enigh room for exhausts AND a front wheelCharles wrote:Will it fit?
make sure, when the forks are fully compressed, you have at least 4 cm clearance between the wheel and anything that might touch it, forks bend a lot under heavy braking

thanks Jan, that's what I intended to do next, was waiting for your replyJanBros wrote:

The front sprocket location seems more/less in the same position as the KR1S one.

Hi Gary
Got the engine (in good condition) very cheap, it reminded me of my first bike a Suzuki T350.
First wanted to put it on display in the living room, but the Mrs had some reservations.... if it would fit in a KR1S frame it would be even better.

it's from a Suzuki T500 from 1971..........garye345 wrote:What engine is it Charles?

I'm afraid it's a no-go:
What do you think? Ok, I will need to make a custom exhaust(that runs straight down) to fit, but it will still be too close to the front wheel
Or might cutting the mudguard be enough? I am not bothered about any Tüv-regulations as I will never get such a custommade bike road registered.

my guess is that's a no-go
let the fork legs stick out about 11-12cm from the top yoke, that way you'll have the position of the frront wheel/fender when the forks are compressed. than you should have 4cm clearance (I'm told buy a guy who should know, such forks bend about 3cm under braking, so that leaves 1cm clearance)

ok, fork legs 11.5cm above the top yoke looks like this:
When I take into account that the height of the tyre itself is 6cm (measured the BT090 on my KR1S), that leaves me with only just 1.5cm clearance.....
