the overall length of proJEcT TURNIP is due to utilising 2 KR motors mounted longitudinally
HOWEVER the motors are not directly coupled together as such but mounted face to face.
The front motor's timing is changed such that the right hand cylinder fires intime with the left hand cylinder of the conventionally mounted rear motor - this being advantageous for only two expansion chambers are required for all fourcylinders because facing cylinders will share one chamber freeing up space (frontal area). The first benefit from this seemingly detrimental increase in wheelbase is landspeed bikes dont need to bank for turns so high speed stability is improved. The second and main benefit of the face2face motors is the front motor can now provide drive the Front wheel aiding traction on the salt bed surface. Any dangerous tendency to wheelstand is eliminated from the extended length (additional front end bias) and the fact that the crank rotation is Contra-Contrarotational (Non-Contrarotating, eg both cranks turn in the same direction)

Chip Foose has provided preliminary design render for the funding proposal

However being North American Chip had naturally never seen a motorcycle motor with more than two pots and of course water cooling is next generation

Initial criticisms have been laid to the Cumqat rather than Lime choice of colour scheme and the apparent Pushme Pullyou design style. However the 2nd timing pass on the return journey will yield an average speed increase because the motor will be running at optimal temperature and clearances only requiring the pilot to stand up and face the other direction
