don't know the make of the oem chain, but mines still on my kr-1 after 23 years so it must be good :)

I much more prefer non-greasy chains to keep the misses in the kitchen :mrgreen:

DID520V-2 was the chain used i believe on the kr1, chrome,nickel my vote only because it will go with my bike, but any other day of the week gold i say

sturdyfluidpower did me a plain o ring 520 chain for £25 deliverd for mine ,just went to have a look and theve gone from tbay :?:

I was biased to use DID chain on my bikes because that's what came on my first bike KR-1
and the other brand you usually see on race bike fairings is RK
however EK have long done painted chains ... and their chains are slightly lighter because the bars between the links are drilled through

I started with a DID 520ERV3 but didnt get to rivetting it up... gold is bit bold

I like the metallic green although I think blue might be better

DID 520ERT chain 1760g plain non-o-ring motorcross ?120? links save 240g
EK 520SR-X chain 2012g 120 links... holes not being any lighter
