It has been a while since I updated this project thread but things have been happening almost weekly ever since.
Here are some pics of what has been going on.
Forks stripped for cleaning, new seals and oil
Shock removed and sent to the professor for overhaul.
Tyres stripped and wheels waiting to be cleaned and sent to triple s for powder coating
Had a go at some home zinc plating
Decided to have the frame stripped and recoated as the previous coating looked grey rather than silver
Had the clock mount done correctly in black instead of silver (screws and bolts not yet re-plated).
Wheels returned from triple s looking a bit nicer
Tyres fitted
A few bits in need of a clean up
Then following the fruitless search for new bodywork I had to work with either what I had or other panels I had sourced in need of attention. A good mate of mine managed to repair these to the point they were good and strong again without the repairs being visible.
Then the panels went to Cordwells for paint inside and out
I sourced some heatproof material from eBay for the belly pan and cut it to shape
Started the re-assembly
Got it fully assembled and running
Taken to MOT and passed with a clean sheet
I have some midrange throttle issues so a little tuning is required. I have ordered new carb jets and I have the new JL' silencers on order and hopefully arriving shortly so all that is left is the sun to come out.
I must thank members of this forum for all the help, tech advice and sourcing of parts which has been hard work sometimes as without you this project would be a lot further behind.
Extra thanks to Martin for sharing his knowledge and always being happy to help.
Sorry about the length of this post, but it has taken a while!
