Anyways I got a 1990 KR1S, c2 I believe, owned it for 12 years, needs a massive cleanup, will post pics of progress as soon as I work out how.

Bought her 12 years ago, 4 awesome years on the road then got myself an R6 so the kwak got a break, I did keep it mot and taxed for a couple more years but this the 1st time out in daylight for 5 years now.
Started to clean it up already but its gonna take more than I thought.

Lots of rot underneath, rear spring has rusted through but with new oil and fuel after 20 slow dry kicks with ignition off, it started 2nd kick with a dead battery so well worth me reviving this one.

Ok swing arm is away for powder coat as its quite bad, started to paint the foot pegs and tie rods myself.

This is not a 100% restore job, just gonna get her looking sweet to get back on the road, I am too young to turn it into a museum piece and stand there looking at it and it prolly looks familiar to Pablo cause there are 1 or 2 similar machines on here lol.
Still looking for a rear caliper and a fairing upper, I got the rest, so if anyone got spares plz let me know.
Got the weekend off so looking forward to getting down and dirty.

The rear calipers were the same on the RGV if that helps you find one and there are a few people with original fairings for sale on here, just in need of repair and paint.

Ok finally got my swingarm back after way too long in the shop,

Summer going fast so now I race against time,

Woops forgot to put on chain slider, there goes another 10 mins.

Rear caliper thanks to Martin, didn't really need pait but done it anyway.

Bit cleaner than she was, only had couple of hours today but got all Sunday and Monday to play, just got to rebuild arse end, clean out carbs and then its off to my mate to have the forks done, never touched forks myself so I will leave it to a pro

Looking good!

Did you check the rear engine mounts while it was apart?
If you slacken the mounts spindles off see if you can slide a feeler gauge between the spacer and engine,its a common prob and leads to the mounts cracking,all you need is a shim or grind a washer down to take up the space.
How were the bearings in the suspension linkage?looks like they would have been fooked judging by the corrosion around that area,must be lucky if they were ok.

All bearings replaced, 4 on swing arm and 3 on suspension link,
also new bolts, cost me nearly 100 quid and the bolts didnt even come with nuts

Had to freeze bearings and heat up swing arm to get them in.
I am looking for 3 shiny nuts for these bolts and thanx for the engine mount info,
Didn't know that.

Powder coat done at JT finishings in bury st edmunds, AVOID these bandits.
Arm was sand blasted to oblivion, coat is ok but it took them 5 weeks.
If you ever use these, I would suggest doing your own prep.
