Thank you guys, appreciate the support :D

Anyhow, my anodising kit arrived today. Won't have a chance to give it a go till the weekend now but I will have a jolly good read up tonight & again tomorrow.

From what I have seen in the kit, there is only one chemical I don't recognise, the rest of the kit is stuff you can readily pick up easily.

Mind you, I do not condone stripping the local church roof of its lead

Other than that, you will need some copper wire (boarded up houses are full of this :-$ ) Some alluminium wire (local florists can help with this) & battery acid, well abandoned cars are.................etc etc

I'll pop some pics up once I've had a crack at it, how hard can it be eh?

Hi Fred,

I'm not an expert, just an avid 'tryer of stuff'
But with a lot of trial & error, the best results I've had when zinc plating are when using an agitator.

I have always used an aquarium bubble maker with an airstone but as I said the bugger went & stopped working on me  Mind you it was old, very old.

The good thing about using an agitator, is you do not have to stand next to the chemicals, stirring away. This can only be good as I'm sure the electrolyte used in zinc plating will not be beneficial to your health

I would always recommend the use of a good mask when working with chemicals :D

But also remember, the suppliers of these goods/chemicals etc have a duty of care. And therefore always supply a safety sheet detailing the best way to handle their goods.

And also remember, these safety sheets are just a kop out should anyone die using their products

Common sense is the best form of safety you'll ever need, unfortunately they don't teach that anymore :(

Hope this helps?

When I was younger I was told that I was really clever but had absolutely no common sense... After years at school and a further 17 years of part time study my missus is adamant I still have no common sense..

Maybe that's why I love two strokes

Well progress has been slow these past few weeks :(

Mainly because people have been pestering me with offers of work :( :D :-k

But also because Mrs H has been wittering on about her extension  AND taking on more work herself so I have had to look after my girls a bit more often, aaahhh bless em.......ones become a right bugger of late too

And now I've gone & spent about half my budget on a Zxr400H  :D \:D/

I never learn & I don't care :D

C'mon Howie let's have some pictures - the ZXR400H was always the best looking 400 in my opinion... As long as it's green ? :D
