KIWI"s RESTORATION

as soon as i have finished 9005rpm.s kr1s. i will be restoring kiwi"s kr1s. it will take a bit of time as i like to do the job my way [take my time and do the job once and correctly]

am i turning in to a serial restorer :-k :-k
mind you, it does make me feel good knowing people trust me sorting their bike out.

You will have to get some stickers made up soon and put them on the swinger.

How about,
"Made in Luton"

If ever my engine goes Martin it will be on your door step the next morning,

Looks like it will be another good rebuild iam sure. 8)

to stop the cardboard blowing away, as it has a oil leak.

this bike will needa bit of work. lots to do on it,

wait and see the photos as i go :) :)

WATCH THIS SPACE
nos exup is going to aqua blast the entire engine to make the look and finish
a as new satin finish
triple s will do all the powdercoating
will prob call dream machine to do the paintwork [have spoken to them]
collins chemical blacking to do all the electroplating [bright zinc/nickel plate/chemicle blacking
and all new genuine kawasaki parts

i know this bike as it is now is sh--t
but this [as the owner wants] will be as new standard condition

Martin tell me more about this chemical blacking. All the fasteners on the Z1000 are suposed to be black. Only they are'nt anymore there rust.
Is this process suitable for restoring this type of finish?

i have had a few done before,company is called [collins chemical blacking]
they do the bright zinc plate and nickle plate and anodising as well.

the bolts i had done back to a black finish came out well.

i have used these poeple four or five times and the quality is good
i will be getting all kiwi,s bolts done there including the black ones

All the engine components and heel plates have now been vapour blasted - two very long days....

ok. time to start uploading pictures.
engine is back from aqua blasting, nick [nos exup]
engine is as new satin finish.
frame and swing arm back tomorrow,
went to see the painter today, the frame and swinger looks new.
