only thing left to do is change the allen bolts on the top covers for the origanal phillips screws when they come back from the electroplaters.
you go that far just to be original
those phillips screws are a pain in the ass in calipers and mostly do not want to come out . And when trying, the head gets damaged etc ...
My ultimate goal is to die young as late as possible !
you are right about the phillips screws, if it was my bike,i would stick with the
allen key bolts. but the guy i am rebuilding the bike for, wants the bike totally
origanal.
i will make sure the threads have copper slip so should be ok

My ultimate goal is to die young as late as possible !
bits and bobs have just came back from the electroplaters [always turn
out better when you prep them yourself]
rebuilt shock will be back soon.
wont be long and i will be putting the bike back together
I would quite happily have that engine sitting on my coffee table & just stare at it, drooling
Just had another look at the re-plated parts Martin. What is the bracket that sits below the front wheel spindle (to the left hand side of the pic) & above the plate for the rear lamp bracket?
