Very nice, I always thought they were a underrated bike.
I've always fancied one, due to my stumpy little legs they are about the only proper superbike on which my pinkies can touch the floor

I've still got the SV at the moment, just stuck it on eBay today for £500.
It owes me nothing, so anything I get for it is a bonus.

Thats great Ben ,i have always want a 916 since the first time i saw one.
i looked at a 998 just before xmas but couldn't get it as work is always a bit slow after xmas, one day [-o<

A bike mechanic i know swears the 748's are better to ride then the 916.

Please don't put anymore piccys up :)

The clutches tend to need to be replaced and the belts need doing on a regular basis, so their upkeep is higher than say a gixer 600 or the like on the servicing side, but they sound the business which makes up for it :)

well i was lucky enough to have clutch done on warrenty, the belt was done anyway, i only had it for a year, but it was in and out of the garage with electrical problem, it used to cut out at 8500 revs just for a split second but it was enough to wiggle the bike, the problem was never solved so i sold it back to the garage, it didn't do it everytime but enough to make you think was it is it no not this time yes this time catch my meaning, but i did enjoy it for a year.

Yeah the early 749's had an electrical problem too, which sounds similar to what you just described Wayne.
The one pictured is an S model, but also a later version post electrical issues.
I've got a 2 year warranty with it as well, so should all be good.
