KR1 Main Swingarm Bearing Replacement

Hi Guys,

Just about ready to fit these. I assumed it didn't matter which way round they went in but there is a slight flange on one side with the part number on.

These are genuine items so there is no question about them being incorrect.

Does the part number face outwards i.e. with the larger flange to press on?

Also - was going to use a long threaded stud and washers / sockets to pull them in after the bearing have been in the freezer.

Any other recommendations?

Cheers

Andrew

Just had a look at my spare Kr1 swingarm & the bearings are fitted with the pt no. facing outwards.

Sounds like you fit yours the same way I fit mine, just remember to slap some grease on them before installing #-o

Hi tescr500 are you sure this is the main arm bearings? (and not the smaller dogbone bearings) I've not placed the order yet, but thought they were these ones ???? Not sure as they don't use the kawasaki part numbers.

Great site BTW, not seen this one before, they even have original fairings that they appear to have on stock?

Paul,

I ordered mine from Z power and got my 10% forum discount. They came in a Kawasaki bag.

Thats the part number above, but im sure if you take it to a quality bearing supplier they will match it, might even be the same maufacturer, mine were from a bearing supplier.

I bought a bearing remover from evil bay - there is a piece like a wine cork with a spit in it and a bar with an end like a flat blade screwdriver - you put the cork shape in from the front then push the bar in from the back. The flat blade spreads cork shape - you hammer it in until its gripping good and tight with the cork pressing on the bench - then give it a good welt (or 10) from the back and it will come out - cost about £19 and made in China. I changed all the bearings in n RGV swinger and there is no way they would have come out without the right tool.

Hmmmmm, I'm presuming this isn't right ??!!

Can't measure properly, or read the numbers unfortunately - I thought there was only meant to be 1 per side ??

They're notchy anyway, so I'll get them out tonight - hopefully [-o<
