Having been a member for nearly 50 years (or so), I reckon it's about time I got a couple of pictures of my babe up here on the forum.

I hope you like her!

Wow that's incredibly tidy, I think the kr1 in those colours looks better than the 1s!

Nice work!

Hi Maccas,

I'm glad you like her.

Black forks, indicators & mirrors, plus some fancy seat recovering with matching green piping. The rest is pretty much standard colours. I occasionally dress her with some Nikons for a change when the mood suits.

Thanks for the kind words.

Have you got any pics with the nikkons on it?

Also have to agree with the black bits but each to their own and it's your bike.

Hi Guys,

Thanks for all the nice comments, I'm kinda basking in a warm glow of near contentedness! Must work harder though!

Hi Maccas, can't find the photo's of the bike with Nikon's fitted so here's a picture of them 'fitted' to my CR500. They are 21 years old and I picked them up 'new' and unused from the guy that used to make them last year. I've only ever fitted them to the bike & started it up, they've actually done zero miles if you know what I mean.

Cheers,

Darren.

Hi Ali,

My sentiments exactly. The paint is poor. I'm going to braze the manifolds to the pipes as well because they leak and I can't seem to get a decent enough seal on them.

The nikons will eventually go on this bike which is a little cafe racer that I'm slowly building. It's a KR1 chassis, cut & shut at the rear, 3MA swingarm, R6 shock (not shown), ZXR250 forks & yolks, FZR1000 disk, R1 clip-ons (I know they are in the wrong place on the photo; bike was hastily assembled for photo) and spokey doke wheels. There's loads more going on with it but I reckon you can see where I'm going with it.

Darren.
