Yesterday the Fella came to collect his one set of pipes and I decided to keep the GP style pipes for this build, aswell as being different I hope I will avoid the side stand and chain clearance issues with side by side pipes

Well I must have meant , not mirror polished
Triumph's were already done but I did hand polish Marmite #1 but not at the backs where you can't see them
Was going to get the frame powdercoated but need to keep the frame number so it can be read easily as it needs registering but maybe have it sprayed ?

Got the 2 frames ready for the welders now,well he is going to have a look at them
Got to start the ball rolling again
German frame just needs the fork lock stops modifying and a bit of strengthening around the swing arm pivot and a bit of repair to the bottom of the frame stem but the UK frame which I have the log book for (easiest way to get it on the road) needs
Lock stops modded
Swingarm pivot strengthened
Front engine mount cross tube repaired
New tube welded in centre stand section
side stand bracket area repaired and bracket re welded back on
Rear side panel grommet pegs re welded back on
Engine tie bar brackets fabricated and welded into place
Small dent in rear subframe tube filler brazed or welded
Sheared bolt removed from mudguard underside bracket
Seems a lot now I have typed it out but gone are the days of scrapping these frames (and petrol tanks)
Worse case scenario will be to get the German frame done and then get it UK registered and get the UK registered frame repaired bit by bit

Sounds like it would be easier and cheaper to take a welding course and buy a second hand welding set.

It was cheaper and easier when I had my mate Lee to do the welding, but since he met his new woman he's on another planet

I get the frames from the welders on Friday
Then got to decide if to just paint or powdercoat frame

Got frames back from welders and one is a UK frame with log book and the other a German frame with German log book and Nova cert.
Problem is both numbers are correct but just so faint that any powdercoat or paint will pretty much obscure them
Would it be unwise to re punch the numbers clearer ?
I guess you would need exactly the right stamps and be very accurate ?
