I see, we have said to other people that if they have to bring a 4 stroke because they have blown their 2 stroke up the week before or its not ready then I guess thats ok.

Ideally needs to be something of the era and not some straightline missile thats going to upset everyone by blasting past them on the straights and then getting in the way round the twisties if that makes sense.

not long to go now. Guess I'll start putting the engine together tomorrow. Fitted a towbar to the new car at the weekend so atleast I should be able to tow the bike there, just not connected up any electrics yet LOL

Won't be there

My employer thought his 6weeks in a row holiday wasn't enough and is off for another week although he promised I could have a few days off for SATT 2010 ](*,)

Ummm not looking good, got a spark and the engine fires up but two helicoils in the LHS on the freshly replated barrels have failed. Which results in a lose head #-o ](*,) ](*,) ](*,) which wont hold water.

Time to look at some replacement cylinders I think. So as it 17:30 and I'm out of gaskets, patience and good will I'll just have to concead defeat.

Can't you just replace the helicoils that failed?
Also, has anyone tried using studs instead of the standard head bolts, as this may reduce the chance of stripping threads in the barrels. Just a thought.

I got a set of barrels here with studs, seems to work fine.

Nope they have pulled the thread out of the barrel when they failed so I can't re-helicoil them :(
