If you get a chance try and do a round with Phoenix - pace is a little more sedate :)

60hp is quite healthy (especially if it is dynopro)

First target must be not to get lapped - that will take a few races. Then it is to start moving up the field. It will come with time. Bit different to a trackday - race pace is quite a bit faster than trackday pace....

Sorry to hear about Simon Exton. Didn't know him but followed his reports on Max's progress after his big smash :(

I am hoping to run at Cadwell 2nd/3rd May with Derby Phoenix on a KR1S, not a very good one but runs ok at moment, 1st time racing, done a few trackdays, any help or advise would be good.

It pays to get your machine sorted before a race meeting. Nothing worse than paying your entry only for the machine to fail and you waste a shed load of money.

I should be there if you need a hand

Has anybody any ideas what gearing would be good for cadwell with a standard 18" rear fitted with 150 and also a 17" fitted with 160, if I can get some spacers made in time, also any suggestions on best tyres to run?

From memory as I haven't run standard box for a long time about 15/43 or 15/42. Depends on how fast you are and wind down Park straight.

Tyres most modern tyres are ok best size for KR is 110 frt 150 rear. Alpha 10 Dunlops should do the job.

If it is your first meeting take it easy remember it is two days keep it smooth and enjoy it. Racing is very very different to a track day.

I think last year (before I crashed), I ran 15/44 on a standard(ish) KR with a 17" rear wheel and it wasn't topping out down the straight.
For a starting point, I reckon about the same if you have a tuned motor.

Either is ok.
I run a green background - suits my colour scheme better than blue :)

Thanks for the info, nice one kwackman12, photo makes my bike look shabby, need to spend more time on bike and less on here, are you running a 18" rear, if so, what tyres are you using and where did you get a tyre warmer to fit it from.
