Hi elf thank you for the welcome, yes i have got the original fairing and its cracked usual place i would imagine by the mirror, so worth keeping hold of then cheers wayne

cheers, well it all depends what you want to acheive, i always sudgest strip it down then start from the beginning but depends what its like, as you can see i have no choice, i recently put a cr500 engine in a 250 frame it was awsome very nice bike to ride and a very tight fit indeed, stripped down then totaly rebuilt, yes i agree forums are great been most helpfull on here so far, been into bikes all my life but always something you will not know, never be to proud to ask for help as there will be someone to help you, so where do you start where ever you like, go with what ever you want to do we are all here to help cheers wayne.

cheers leewc, looking forward to the day finished polishing and starting to rebuild, hoping to get it done for next summer but depends on life in other words how the finances are going, but in no hurry and want to do everything i have in mind, take my time and make a good job not worried how much i will spend as long as the end result is good cheers wayne.

Hi all, just thought i'd fill you in on a home zinc plating kit, very impressed with the results, don't know if anyone else has tried but worth ago i thought, takes a bit of time but part of the fun i say here's the results

I toyed with the idea of doing my own electroplate when I started the KR1s but put myself off looking at kits on line.I have had two batches off stuff done,the first came back mint but the last set is a mixture of good,not so good and crap

I will have more to do so I might have a punt on one of those

How easy to use is "easy to use" Wayne

Just done some myself, first time I've tried it & I have to admit that its a bit hit & miss but experience should improve the results.

It is easy to use, but the key really is down to prep.

I really would recommend a bit of practise on something not important before diving in with bits you want to use

Still, the plating does come off again quite easy

Hi Howie not polished at all, its chrome affect powder coat and the results are really good.
