on that left hander? It scared to sh** out of me on several bends not just one... Never been so afraid to fall off a bike, it had been years since I last rode pillion.kwackman12 wrote: to think these might not have ever happened if you "had" fell of the back of my bike on that left hander at the "ring"

thanks James, for letting me know they've arrived. Still waiting for the USA, Aus and NZ-guys to confirm the arrival of their sets. Current tracking status of their shipments only indicate they've arrived in the country of destination.falconman wrote:Got mine today. what do you have in the works for us now?!
Next project will be the manufacture of sets of KIPS-pullies/levers. Will start a topic on them the next few days, but need to sort out how to proceed first.

I forgot: could you please report on how the valves perform?
Wrote in a german forum as well (thought some KR1S owners in germany I do not know might be interested) and I only got some quite negative responses: "Aluminium is no good for exhaust valves, you should have taken steel" , "let's see if they work, they probably won't" "that strange F3-shape is no good at all, they will fail instantly" etc.
Would be nice if I could write they do work. Can try them myself, as I haven't got a set for myself

Charles,
The original OEM valves were cast Alloy, the cylinders head etc are all alloy and you don't see them all melt in the heat. So alloy has been fine since Kawasaki first made the KR1.
I've been using F3 valves for the last two years and never had a problem. These are manufactured from billet and not cast and so they will be stronger then the originals as well as resulting in better gas flow.
Steel is heavier, expands at a different rate to the rest of the engine, and takes more machining. Those extra grams could cost us atleast 0.00001 BHP as well

Good evening!
i have a set at home.
make me a good offer
@jan
this was in www.zweitakt-forum.de
i think that's normal for German people.
anything that not approved from a two-stroke guru can not work but no one can explain why not.
cheers
Dirk

Valve are here...
Hi Charles, just to say the valves arrived, they look fantastic.
I placed them in my ported and plated barrels and the fit perfectly.
All round a top job and a fantastic effort by yourself. =D>
It's just a pity you can't see them when they are fitted.....
I will be putting them on the bike over the weekend.
Now all I need is the 35mm carb adaptors and a trip to the dyno to see where we are.
I guess I could do an std vs F3 valve run, then you can show that they work!!
Cheers
