start of c2 stripdown & rebuild

bought on 17.9.2001 for £50 :D ,was done up,cheaply ,shotblast everything,smoothright silver on engine and frame,race products fairing was vauxall mettalic blue (before a icy crash 2yr ago :oops: ) and was on the road all the time whatever the weather.

it was running well ish ,started second kick,and pulled 110mph in 6th at about 10.000 rising with 15 stone on her,ive never took before and after pictures so this will be a bit of a drive to get the job done,cheers fred

3 litres of liddles paint stripper later,came up cleaner than i thought,thinking of keeping it ally now, has anyone used zoop clear coat or clear powdercoat,i hate polishing,any input would be appreciated,cheers fred

Powder coat it fred polishing is is'nt my idea of fun.suprised you had to strip it tho the powder coaters did mine.

is suggest a clear laquer.
i have used the stuff from halfords on brake rotors and works really nicely.

only thing is that if it cracks and water gets in it will go cloudy and or start to lift which is a pain.

powdercoat or paint is the options i would look at if it were me

just making some enquiries on clear powdercoat ,orderd some scotch pads to give a fine linnished finnish on all the box section and flat ally

Just had a chat with a aircraft fitter freind.they use alocrome 1200 a and b. And alocrome 1000 on jet engine intakes.it stops corrosion on ally.picking some up thursday

Havent been on here recently.women ,homes n other cxxp .cleaned everything up.ally mig'd the frame for a new nut insert (rear damper mount) ..shed.,winter.,3 projecs., supersurs.... Bleeding knuckles ...i love it .anyone got a drawinng of a bike workbench?

ready for powder coat at last,need to put more time in

just got this deliverd from ebay,needs a good bit of tlc,but 1 litre of oil and a stator rotor for £24.99 deliverd aint bad
all ready for powdercoat now, ally powdercoat on all parts,white wheels,and some sort of bright red for the fibreglass or kwak green , need some advice on this , i think red
oh got a dfx file for expansion chamber cones ,and can copy to paper for templates,if anyones interested

I can take these to the local laser cutters and get them cut in 0.7mm mild steel.

very low and mean with kinda old school but military look

when you think of other models you might do on a cheap find - probably wouldnt turn out this good (faired bikes sometimes hide a lot of complicating junk)

the kr is going to be red to match the paddock stands that i made last sunday and this sunday ,and a old blue oyster cult song ,i recon red and black will be ok ,or kwak green ,green ,red ,

the spigot through the stem is a old 1/2 inch extention ,good for all me bikes, total cost of paddock stands ? sweet f a

all fittings ready for plateing ,nickel ,droping em off this satday,then its pretty much a rebuild ,but i recon i will start asking more questions when i get to the refill shock with oil bit
