Start of the new Kr1s forum

Post by martin » Wed Oct 03, 2018 8:14 am

This forum has been nearly dead for some time.
I have read various comments. Some negative.
Even I have gone over to Facebook.
But now I have heard Bernie 500. Is going to be admin and sort the Kr1s forum out.
So many forums have died. And with Facebook/photobucket etc
Over to you bernie. It would be nice to get the friendly forum up and running again!

Good to hear Bernie & Martin. I have said it before I feel there are two roles Facebook and a dedicated forum play. For here is my new bike and what gearbox oil to buy go fac. For stripdown, advice or race prep or detailed model difference etc stay with a marque forum.

The number of idiots I see posting on face book plus the w....y waving trying to outdo a previous poster. Dedicated forums have a bit more etiquette.

Last thing i do have to say is face knocka the spots off all forums when it comes to posting pictures, no photobucked imjur, etc , just click and insert. Its the consequence of have a billion user platform paid for by sponsorand aspiring politicians

Hi Guys,
As the newly appointed Galactic Overlord (thanks Al), I will attempt to resolve any operational issues as they arise.

Al is still the main man, but he is delegating some of his day to day tasks to me as he has a lot on at the moment.
Please be patient as I have never done anything like this before (I am still looking for the user manual).

Photobucket sent me an email yesterday basically saying everything was back to normal but any posted photos will have a watermark saying"hosted by Photobucket " which is fine by me, and i intend to get the ball rolling by posting some more shiny photos.

I will expect a significant increase in site traffic!!!!!

Cheers
Bernie :)

Nice one. I don't come on here that often, but it's always been a useful source of helpful knowledge and I hope that continues. I'll try to post more relevant stuff when I can. Best of luck Bernie !

I run my own 2-stroke forum, and it often goes quiet on there too. Facebook is part of the reason for that, although it has a useful but different role to play too.

Well done on keeping the forum alive, I'm too old for the Friendface / twit generation and there has been a lot of good advice and banter (see, I told you I was old) and after meeting up with a few of the guys on here at the Ace cafe a couple of weeks ago it shows the enthusiasm for these little bikes hasn't faded. Bernie, don't know about Galactic overlord but we all know that you come from the planet Solvol

Excellent news, really pleased you've picked this up.

This forum is a fantastic wealth of information with a lot of experience which needs to be kept alive.

An injection of enthusiasm is probably just what it needs at the moment.

Cheers Guys,

Lets see if we can get some interest sparked in a few areas, some photos would always be welcomed.
I am going to try and load up a few photos on my rebuild thread as Photobucket emailed me to say they were back to business as usual, but the photos would have a "hosted by photobucket watermark", I need to see what it looks like and if it spoils the photos.

Keep posting!

Bernie :)

Good news indeed :), don't use, and have no interest in facebook, so forums for me, all the way. I did post some new pics the other day from my PB account after a few hours the 'water mark' appeared but doesn't really detract from the image that much, and doesn't bother me, especially as I didn't cancel my account. Good luck bernie. 8)

Hi Shaun,
I am hoping Al will give me permission to reskin the forum and make it look like it used to, tastefully updated of course.
Cheers

I think he said re-skin not polish up the forum, but we'll find out if the words 'website sponsored by solvol autosol' appear on the main page

This is great news!
I have been absent from the forum for a few weeks and this happened!?

Facebook is a good way to post about your bikes, but I feel it's not as friendly as a forum.
The z1000 Facebook page I'm on is full of wannabe tough guys. Chicken strippers, and I think is sponsored by Michelin?
Eh?

Anyhoo,
Cheers Martin.
