Unrestored back to std
This is the one I've been using while building the other one . & I'm not going to restore it .... But I collected quite a few "new" parts for the other one. & never used . Two seperate ex racers had removed the parts of a new bike, "to take it racing" put the parts in the loft sold there bikes yrs ago & forgot about them . Full plastics , & The shock, are the Gems. So they'r going on this one....I hope your all tidy workers like me ......Any one shed any light on the shock I took off, It worked well
Two in every one of us is Schiz-oo phrenic

Finished. !!!
To cold to take outside for a pic. "but it's all been seen before." I can't remember being so cold for so long. Really sick of this winter, & remember where I live, I can through stones at Scotland
Anyway enjoyed doing this short make over
New dust & fork seals / oil + painted the fork legs
New seals & painted the calipers & disk centres.
Removed the s/s hoses & fitted originals + the ugly rear swing arm hose clips
New shocker.
Replaced a load of bolts with originals. fairing & screen bolts are still available.
New clear screen.
Swaped the cans over. "There reversible" once you carefully cut the brackets off
Removed two decades of crap from under the engine & rear shock
New throttle cable.
Tank I thouht was in good condition but I still managed to poke a hole in it, beside the tap now soldered up & painted
Done a lot of professional touch In's using my new friend ( an airbrush )
cleaned & Set the carbs up. (Big difference )
Something everybody should be checking. I thought the bike handled well
If not the best i've ridden. But I knew the fork seals were shagged. But it was harsh over poor roads. So while doing the shock discovered that one of the linkage needle bearings was seized, had to drift the dam thing out. Then the head stock bearings once I had the front wheel up discovered.
some mut had tightened them right up. So expecting a different bike to
ride when the temp gets above 0
