Thanks chaps.
I can't wait for the bodywork to come back.
I managed to get a new old stock black mirror for £12 on ebay a while ago, but I've had to bite the bullet and order the right side from Kawasaki.
I found a nice clean fuel cap among the spares, so I swapped the locks round, and thats about as far as I can go for now.

Got the body work back from the painters and I have to say I'm pleased with the results.
I was on till 11 last night fitting it, cos the painter has a stand at the bikewise show in Durham on Sunday, and wants the bike to showcase his work.
It's far from finished, there are a few jobs still to do so some of the bodywork will have to come off again, but for now it looks the part.

You would'nt believe it Howie, but I used the very last of my funds to pay the painter.
I'm going to clear the garage today, tidy up, and see what I can sell to get the Lawson started. Then when that's finished I'm done. I'm going to get me fishing rods oot, and have a few salmon out of the river wear.

Mind you I still fancy an RD400

Hi Paul,

I wish I still had my old RD400E (DUB 111T) :(

I will have to get a move on and scrape some cash together for the paint.

Cheers,
Bernie :D

I left the bike with the painter at the Bikewise show in Durham last night, and went to collect it today at the end of the show (I had too much to do today :( ).
Anyway when we got there it was runner up in best Japanese classic :D I did'nt know he was going to enter it, thought it was just to showcase his work. I am ower the moon especialy as I'd seen some very nice stuff when we dropped it off last night, and a lot of the owners clubs were there. Good job I spotted the bum pad, and was able to scrounge a 10mil spanner (very nice too snap-on) =P~

Anyway everyones happy he reckons it got loads of attention, and drummed up some business. I certainly have no hesitation in recomending him. PM'd ya Bernie.

Thanks for the comments, and thanks to everyone who helped me with bits, advice, and encouragement.

I won't call it finished yet there are a few jobs to do, and the first proper ride oot will probably identify some further work, but all in all a good day.
