Help! Crankcase defect??
Hi folks
A short time ago i have changed the crank, because the right hand side exhaust has great many smoked and i thought the crankseal is broken-down and the engine burn gear oil.
Now , if the engine warm the right hand side exaust smoke much much more
(a real wall of smoke) than te left if i turn the throttle full.
It smells like gearoil
i have fear the crankcase is defect.. Shocked
did that already have one of you?
regards
Dirk

Dirk where abouts are you? I could sent you some Liquid penetrant, cleaner and developer for crack detection, but as the're aerosol based I'll have to check if I can post them to you.

OK then that's easy. It'll be even easier if you/dirk know someone who works for E-on? If you do I can post the crack detection gear though work. That'll save loads of problems.

Good morning
@the-elf
Thanks for your offer.
I will take up with Charles contact.
I inquired, what costs a new housing.
A new housing costs ~700,-GBP
What is E-ON?
No luck with the new machine.
New Crank, new Kipsvalves, "new" stator, cylinder and pistons in good condition, reed valves ok, carbs good...
and now this bullshit.
Is the repair of the housing worthwhile itself?
regards
Dirk

Worth a go. I can get the crack detection bits posted to you if you need them? You should be able to see the cracks but they'll take some looking for. Are there any external oil leaks? if so start looking for the cracks in that area.dirk wrote:Hi Charles

Where is my coffee?
I don't know anybody who works for E-ON
The easiest way to repair them is once you have identified the crack is to machine a Vee in it using a dremil cutter on both sides, then use some plastic metal to fill the vee's back up and overlap it onto the good metal on both sides. Then sand it back down smooth on the inside of the crank case. There's no need to sand it down inside the gearbox or on the outside except for clearance and/or looks.

Hi
Everything is close from the outside.
I ask still a few friends.
Possibly they can find the tear.
Otherwise, I return gladly to your offer.
Again thank you!
@Charles

hi..
I dismantled the housing.
And ????
The mechanic assembled the housing halves without sealants.
the halves are perfectly brightly.
you can see the gap between transmissions and crank cases with the eye. Now i know why transmission oil burned.
what a stupid mechanic......
