KR1 Man calling just to say the only bike to sound like an early 80's racer is the one we all love, so go for it, rip up the tarmac and remind an entire crowd of spectators (plus that entire generation who've grown up without strokers) of something they may well have forgotten (or have never known about), and how good they sound. GO FOR IT

KR1 Man Calling aaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, BGP day at Silverstone, '78 to 84! Watching all those old videos (turned up LOUD) really brings it all hurtling back; Was it really all that long ago? Plus the ride in (and the ride back out also). Never forget '83 when all that confusion happened regarding getting the race stopped due to Huber and Brown tragically losing their lives. That year, we were on our way back down (if my memory serves me right) the Newbury by pass; I was on the back of a BMW K100RS, & we were settled into a comfortable '90 something when a guy ripped past the whole lot of us as if though we were all standing still. He was down on the tank- riding a pre YPVS 350 LC and we never caught him up either. Now when we stopped for a fag break, the conversation went something like "what the fxxk has he had done to his motor to make it go like that? By the way, he left everybody else standing too! An unforgettable bonus to a tragic day. I can still clearly remember this LC and will NEVER forget it either, Just the sound of two spannies disappearing in the distance as if we were all doing 20mph but there you go and KR's had'nt even been produced. Happy Happy days. Best regards, kr1 man.

you just mentioned my favourite word
i'll make the effort to come and watch provided the weathers ok
haven't done a track day for several reasons
1.don't fancy smashing my bike up !
2.couldn't justify cost to my wife
3.have textiles not leathers
funny how a lot of the members are now race/trackday active while
a few years ago we were mainly road based apart from MJ

KR1 Man calling. Did anybody attend BGP day, Silverstone '79? If you answer yes to the question, did you know that you are actually IN the Silver Dream Racer film? No, I thought not. Just watch carefully at the start, you'll see Bazza and his massive wheelie, then follow the aeriel shots which cover the 'entire track' through various bits of the actual 500 race. If you remember where you were standing and you see it, then congratulations, you are actually (unofficially) a film extra!!! Pathetic bit of triviality: If you read the novel, the bike was actually talking to David Essex! Anyway, different endings were filmed including one where he did'nt get killed (shown on the DVD); so somewhere there was an idea for a sequel. Seem to remember something being mentioned about it all those years back in MCN but as we all know, it never happened. By the way, two of the bikes are owned by Buell in the states, and some guy in Germany has a replica! What a unique project for someone with a redundant RG500, and an easy paintjob too! Best regards, KR1 Man.

None of us can we just don't tell her the real cost2.couldn't justify cost to my wife
Well I could lend you a spare set of leathers forr the day.3.have textiles not leathers
Best place ever to ride a bike and explore the limits. Can't do that on the roads, plus no car drivers, manholes, diesel spills, or muck on the roads, everyone goes in the same direction (hopefully) and no speeding tickets .funny how a lot of the members are now race/trackday active while a few years ago we were mainly road based apart from MJ
