Billy Redmayne (newcomer) tried both std and race bikes out tonight at a damp course.
Race bike has noticeable more top end but not much low down
Standard bike has linear power all the way but not as fast.
Billy posted 4th quickest in 126 - 350 class of 26
Both bikes behaving in tricky conditions
Final practice tomorrow afternoon and race Sunday afternoon
Hopefully it will be dry

I was at the TT three years ago today watching the classic. You will have a great time, good luck in practise and the race

Sat practice.
Billy wanted to concentrate on quicker race bike so he did 1st session and said it was bogging down coming out of hi speed corners in 5th and 6th gears (running 16t x 42t). Plug chop told us 155 mains were running ok so we dropped needles one notch.
2nd session an improvement up to when it locked up.
Race today with std bike and hope its wet to make things more equal with TZs etc

Bloody Bikes!
Standard bike went pop in half a lap, very embarrassing and puzzling. Not good enough
Race bike = holed piston and seized. Could be too little squish clearance was .70 / .75 also new pistons were a tight .004 / .005 bore clearance and possibly ignition problem as L/H/S was ok.
Std bike = seized solid but not had a chance to look at it, suspect at least similar damage. This was most unexpected as Billy had raced this a couple of months ago and it ran fine.
I now need to find 2 and maybe 4 barrels and 1 cylinder head that you good old forum members are bound to have to help me get these bikes up and running in the next 8 weeks.
If I cannot get barrels I will need to get damaged ones fixed,
A lot has been discussed about the merits of replating so if anyone can advise on best way and best company to go to?
Ta
Ronnie

Contact Poeton Aptec Ronnie and get them repaired and replated. Send them new pistons so they can be honed to the bores.

Send the lot to The Tuning Works, Sean can supply pistons and has a deal with apotec coatings.

Weakening the needles sometimes makes it run dangerously lean when rolling off the mains back onto the needle :?
