Swing-arm removal

Hi,
Looking to get the swing-arm on my KR1S re-painted (probably powder coated), but I have a couple of questions:

1) How do you support the bike while removing the swing-arm?
2) People's thoughts on which finish is best (I'm only trying to tidy the bike up) Paint or powder-coat?

Any help would be great.

I've only ever done it with a bike stripped fully down, but support the frame from an overhead beam/ceiling/rsj etc seems the preferred way. Axle stands and wood through the footrest hangers?
So long as the rear frame is suppported and balanced, it's fairly easy, slacken it all off first though, as it seems quite common for the spindle to seize solid.
