Strange Electrical Fault!

I have discovered a strange electrical fault with my KR-1S, when you push or operate any of the handle bar switches, horn button, or any other switch, the kips motor does a cycle of opening and closing, never seen this before.
Has anybody come across this before?
Any help on this would be greatly welcomed.

Thanks in advance,

Tony

I think it might be bad earth.

try again with a cable from "-" battery attached to the KIPS motor

Hi Jan,
Tried the earth cable, no luck, just can't work it out.
Also could you help with this question, there is a 2 pole connector attached to the wiring that comes from the left hand switches, the wire colours are black & yellow & plain black, do you know what this connects to.

Thanks in advance,

Tony

The connection is for the clutch lever switch (part of the side stand safety circuit).
Cheers

IS THIS WITH ENGINE RUNNING?...
...
... is it simply your battery is borderline flat and any item turned on triggers voltage to dip too low and kick cdi/KIPs ? give it a charge

try disconnecting the temp gauge (and clocks) I think this has a might live +ve feed that could supply a short circuit

start eliminating factors
is it left AND right bars?
with clocks and headlight removed?
