Hi there,
So next problem with my KR1-s ....
The oil seal on the balance shaft (to the outer (left) side) seems to be leaking.
Is it possible to change it?
Didn't manage /see how to gett it off..
Thanks

Re: balance shaft
It would need to be split, much the same as on the crank

Hmm thought so, but I don't really see how to split it...

Re: balance shaft
Specialist job, I wouldn't do one myself. SEP in Kegworth do all my crank based work.

Re: balance shaft
Hydraulic press and puller is the answer. Look for similar companies that specialise with crank rebuilds.

Re: balance shaft
and if you do it yourself, there is the difficulty of putting it back together in the correct position, not just simply press it on.
My ultimate goal is to die young as late as possible !
