Gold Frame

Well spent over 8 Hours with cellulose thinners and even though i've no fingerprints left i've managed to do a passable job removing most of the visible horrible gold and the dull gray undercoat. A quick rub with brasso and one side done (well enough to go out on it with being laughed at). Only prob is facing doing other side.

To be honest happy just to see it silver as its passable to go out for a spin later this year. Would like to in future have it stripped down and have frame professionally polished as i don't have proper tools mechanical knowledge and patience to do it all myself. Obviously once it's stripped i'd want engine etc checked out and new pistons so it's a big job for the future. Happy with it at moment.

Lovely that. What do u use to get that shine as people i know only seem to have bench polishers could do with something hand held to get mine a bit shinier and which polish do u use as i do like polished bits but don't have any gear to do it right.

250-1500 wet n dry, finished with a loyblock (garyflex) and solvol.

If you wanted fast results you could use a loose polishing mop in a hand drill and green/blue polishing compounds (screwfir/tool station).

Cheers looks a bit technical for me and i don't even have a drill I'll have to keep it as it is for now so i can get shocker and it mot'ed so i can have a play out and if i decide to strip it in future look into polishing then. But for now i'll have a do with the solvol =D>

If you only want to polish the bits of frame on view just remove the bodywork and use paint stripper on those bits - no need to take the bike to bits - just remove the swing arm

The basic finish polishes up by hand pretty easily
