Refurbed discs, they were good but a little play in bobbins,Stealth Discs will make you new bobbins at what size you need to tighten them up again
Not everyone is a fan of the bobbins with clips but Spondon used them on their brakes for years and i have had them on my Buell the last 7 years and LC 2 years
Carriers were beadblasted and Plastikote BBQ paint which is a great finish

Here's the front I feel something ain't quite right
It is an LC frame with RGV forks and a banana arm and KR1S wheels though
I am no longer an upside down fork virgin anymore

arnt you better off running the string straight to the rear tyre rather than over the yokes?
ridden my mates one Martin, must admit I dont like the lack of steering lock and its put me right off of fitting a set on my LC, leaning towards KR1S or 3MA front end and rear wheel.

350LC, YPVS engine to make it go faster, Brembos to make it stop faster!

The string over the top is a third piece so looking down you are actually ligning up 3 seperate pieces of string.
It's sorted now and put the engine in to see what offset the chain is and we got 8mm.
I know some folks have had big offset front sprockets but as on my old bike and this, anything more than 6mm and the chain will hit the inside of the frame
NK milled 5mm off my KR1S sprocket carrier so sprocket sat in 5mm and i had a 6mm offset front sprocket on the red LC.
So i need to decide how to split the 8mm measurment on the new one between front and rear
Here's another pic, ride height is the same at the rear as my old bike and looks o.k.

Slight update, you have probably seen my ramblings about the BT92 140 tyre going out of production.
This is a big ball ache for my build as i was going to have the cush drive machined in for chain alignment but as the Bt 92 tyre (150/60/18) measures a true 158mm according to the info i was sent then this is a major f##k up
Only thing apart from refitting RGV wheels is to get the frame modded to bring the chain out on an offset sprocket,i had this done with the marmite #1 and got several mm in the process

Knocked up a cardboard template to make up a bracket that will be welded to the top of the RGV swinger and bottom shock mount.
Think it needs to look a bit nicer but carried along the plate so will have more welded area
The square section on the bolt will be welded to the plates at this angle
I have 8mm plate to use so should be up to the job

I take it theres going to be a "left plate" to go with the "right plate". [-o< I think extending the square plate the shock bolts to down to the swinger would be a good idea as well. Then again, I aint no engineeer.

I set the ride height the same as my other bike and i have templates from other peoples bikes with the same swingarm and that is the correct height as far as i know.
I have 8mm plate to use
Scott do you mean extending the "squareplate" which is 63mmx63mm down further to the top of the swinger so it will be a rectangular shape ?
This pic is one that has been modded, but he fitted a longer shock so is not as high as my bracket
Note this bracket doesn't extend into the shock hole of the swinger but has held fine

Yeah, thats what I was thinking. As you said, the other guys one has held up just fine, so it may not be necersary at all, but I'm always partial to over-engineering things just to be sure.headcoats wrote:Scott do you mean extending the "squareplate" which is 63mmx63mm down further to the top of the swinger so it will be a rectangular shape ?
