Cheers Scoobie. Will let you know what it sounds like when It fires up for the first time. Shouldn't be long now. Then, if I can get my head round it, I'll put it on youtube. Now that could be a problem!

Oh dear. Just read elsewhere on this site about left and right side CDI. I only have the one. Don't sound too good, does it?
Oh well, should be in a position to try and start it in a couple of days then we'll see.

Thanks Jan. Fired up today for the first time. Sounds good but I don;t know what should happen with KIPs valves. Haven't took the revs too high but nothing seems too happen. Should there be a reset cycle or something like on the YPVS? Really need help on this one!!!!

Upon turning the ignition on, they should open and then close again.
With the engine running they open between 7000 and 8000rpm IIRC.

Thanks Charles. I was hoping you'd be out there. Nothing seems to happen at all. Maybe when wiring complete it will but I'm beginning to think servo is a bad one. Any way of testing it?

Are the KIPS cables perhaps fitted too tight?
Does the KIPS-motor move when you disconnect/slacken both cables?
If this doesn't have any effect, read the instructions on page 15-21 of the manual, it tells you how to test the KIPS-motor.

Thanks Charles. Cables quite loose so I'll take your advice and test the servo tomorrow. Could be the reason why pulleys and cables were not there when I got the bike. Thanks again.

Hi Gordi,
then good luck tomorrow, I hope you won't need another motor.

That was in reference to the earlier KR250 Tandem Twin which has two seperate CDI units (1 per cylinder). Hope that helps clear up the confusion.

Thanks for info Charles. No resistance at 4 & 5 when tested so replacement servo needed. Already found one on this site which again shows how useful it is. So a big round of applause for Alimorg!!
And thanks also to Scott for clearing up mystery over CDIs.
I think the project could be finished by next week or shortly after. Then start saving for enough fuel to get me to the TT 2011.
And if I wanted to put it into a show, which category would it fit into? In fact, which show?
Not a good day

Hi everyone. Just started bike (running on pre-mix) and it seems oil-pump is not working. Then petrol pipe split. Got trapped between fuel tap and choke fixing on carb. Not a lot of room in there, just hope it was my fault and not a problem with the layout. Must try harder!!
