I didn't have them vapour blasted just paint stripper, gunk and elbow grease

It's a powervalve motor but decided to leave it like the early LC's

God that engine looks too good to ever use.

I love to see the classic restoration in concourse condition etc. but to me a bike is there to be thrashed, and I could never spend that much time to clean the crank cases by hand to that fantastic finish cause:
a) my hand would have worn though to the bone.
b) I have the retention threshold of a gold fish.
c) My kids can't be bribed to do it for me
;-)

That sure looks like a hell of a good looking engine.

Honest after paint stripping and gunking i have hardly polished the cases
I'm convinced this old alloy is a better quality than modern stuff,it came up great :P .

Some of the LC members have to have totally original down to every last nut and bolt but i wanted something a bit different

Cheers Greenies

It isn't all going to plan though

Bike fell over in the garage on sunday and got a few scratches and it ripped the carbon end can off the expansion chamber
So having that repaired.

These LC side stands seem a bit suss, but i think having the rear jacked up doesn't help,i will have to leave it in gear when it's parked up

Indicators wouldn't work and as i had the left switchgear powdercoated ,i thought it was that..... then after several checks it turned out to be one of the indicators,a bad earth.

Then yesterday i put the side cases on and fitted the blingy RD 500 kicker
i gave it a kick to test it and it gouged out an arc in the freshly powdercoated casing  .
I had to trim a lug off the alloy of the kicker to clear it.
I can touch up the casing and i hope you won't see it when the kicker is on

It has taken 2 years to get this far and i'm just itching to have it finished nowImageImage

The headlamp is 3 different ones

The rim is a replica from RDLCCrazy Xanadu it's called....
The shell is genuine LC and the actual headlamp ia an angel eye type from a mini, i got it secondhand so not to sure of the model.
