Pleased with it, it kept the detail really well and the sprayer is doing a really good job, bit of a drive to Ilkeston but worth it to leave it all to someone I can trust with it. I've seen some pics of plastic coated and read that it can end up a bit thick and plasticky looking, and loose detail/frame number.

Hi Andrew, I wondered who those bits were for, I saw tank and bellypan I think last week finished ready to go looking very nice. Hoping to have mine ready in a month or two. Andy's cursing the back wheel I left him at the moment, powder coated and it doesn't want to come off!

He did a full spray job for a mate of mine on a Suzuki X5 last year, superb work and made it look factory original. Really fair pricing as well and a good bloke.

Another Sunday morning in the garage. Think this is all the casing work done unless you can spot some more casing to remove Ben?! Not sure there's that much left. Looks nice though so in my head that's at least another 10 horses

Both sides done, just a bit of sanding to finish.


With the cases done I'm finishedtil the crank comes back so starting to gets bits bolted back onto the frame now.

Yeah that looks good now. How long have SEP had your crank for?

I dropped it off 4 weeks ago, told them no rush and he said it would be about a month before he could get back to me. By the looks of the photo's all over the reception they do a lot of race engineering so I'm guessing off season is a busy time for them!

Don't mind waiting, not like I haven't got lots to get on with, but it'll be nice to be finally bolting the engine back together soon.

Being realistic and in my experience, they usually take about 3 months.

Still got plenty of time to get this lot back together then..

I'm pretty sure the workbenches at Stan Stephens look almost exactly the same

Did you supply the original-pattern magneto-side oil seal (with the locating ridge), or did SEP supply it? The seal kits I bought a long time ago came with a plain magneto-side seal (no ridge) and I was told the "proper" ones had been discontinued - please let us know!

The crank came back from SEP looking exactly as the photo, I'd only just unwrapped it! They supplied all parts and seals, and charged a very fair price
