Good effort mate. You've got me thinking I might sack the aqua blasting and replace with elbow grease then spend the money on the crank and the top end.
An outstanding snow sculpture aswell by the way. When i was down there we only ever had one proper winter and everybody headed for Garroby hill to sledge it was great.

Yeah snowman's or right for your daughters first attempt that is
Should have took a photo of ours, had to use a scaffold battern to roll its body onto the bottom-it was giant
Must have had its doner card, cause when it melted some, the kids used its body for a giant snowball on the street-they would'nt listen,i said it was the wrong"type"of snow-they learned the hard way
Engine looks fine and dandy to me Howie

Thanks guys,
Believe me though, if I had the cash I would definately go for the aqua blast. I've given my outer cases a quick shot blast using playsand so not to do much damage to them. I'm also hoping it will provide a good key for either painting or lacquer.
There's a lot to this restoring business, think i'm happier just fixing the buggers

Sorry but I feel like i'm boring you all to death here but

Here is the LHS done, looks ok, could do with a bit of touching up here & there
[/img]

Please note the Kawasaki green breather hose (many thanks KR-1R

)

Now its just sorting out the decent clutch plates from the crap. I really hate measuring clutch plates, I really cannot think of a more boring job when sorting a bike. Watching paint dry on blades of grass you've just counted would be more interesting.

Those really are mad

Brilliany work KR-1R =D>
If I upgrade to 35mm carbs I'll be in touch for a set.
Without ending up with a completely green bike, I was wondering what else would look good Kawasaki green?
Brake hoses? Rear caliper torque arm?

Hey KR-1R are they available in 28mm?
I might be getting drunkerer but they are definately growing on me.
Not too worried about the carb to engine rubbers but I do love the idea of carb to airbox (or are they the same size? Or would that defeat the purpose?) I really should give up the bottle, hic

Actually Charles, I am being quite refined & civilized tonight.
I am drinking a very nice South African cabernet sauvignon, very fruity with a hint of spice. Full bodied & zesty, with the taste of a balmy summers evening sitting by a lake in Zambia cooking oysters over an oak fire. I can taste the African desert mixed with the aroma of elderberry, with the scent of appleflower & over ripe plum.
Mind you I am drinking it straight from the bottle.

Blackberry's are cool
Untill you're trying to get some sleep & your wife is busy sending emails about work at 11.30pm, grrrrr
Anyway, because my deadline is drawing ever nearer (on the road for spring, any time in spring

) I have done a deal with Matty21 (top fella, good luck with the racing matey) for his Kr1 track bike.
So I now have a running engine & a very good set of wheels amongst other bits, to put into my Kr1
Hopefully (as long as I don't get too drunk tonight & upset my wife, making her, make me do gardening again tomoz

) I will get engine & wheels swapped over tomorrow & with a bit of luck I will get the bike to the mot station later in the week
Little bit more painting to do, like the whole fairing & seat unit! But it now looks like I will be smoking the whole summer long
I will post some pics tomorrow evening
'happy' Howie
