Just had a look and found that horn I thought I had, but not the switch gear. Now I'm pretty certain I had one kicking around, but it certainly not where I expected it to be.

I got a new horn for 1.20 on ebay
When I have finished with the switch gear it should look passable

Right, getting back to finishing off the left hand switch assembly.
I had swopped the good body onto the better wiring, but the pass switch was scrap.
So I had disconnected the wiring connectors from the plugs and pulled out the wiring from the sleeve and connected the good pass switch into the body.
Now I have a good assembly body with good switches, but two lots of wiring for the pass switch (the old wiring in the sleeve and the wiring for the good switch outside)......



So I have cut the ends of the wiring from the damaged switch and taped them to the wiring of the good switch, I am going to use the old wires as draw wires to pull the good cables into place (I hope).


Great that worked, all I need to do now is remove the spade connectors for the old wiring and replace them with the new wiring....


I will also remove the damaged boot and replace it with a better one....

Its not perfect but it will do until I get a better one....just got to fit it now

Just to confirm the choke cable routes around L/H side of steering stem, over bottom yoke and around the front of L/H fork leg. Fiddly keeping the cable/lever in place while finding and locating the spiggot in the clipon.

Done..since its raining and the dogs won't go out

I have to say I always disliked those poxy cancel buttons on the KR1 I had years back. I had a GPX250 at the time too and later a GPZ600 and the indicator push to cancel on those was so much better and easier to use, and basically the same if I remember correctly
Nice job tho, very difficult to refurb the lettering on the switch gear

I intend to have a go at the lettering using lettraset white characters when I get a bit of spare time.
Worth a try for the sake of about three quid for a sheet of letters.

the ones on my NC30 have faded to nothing almost, the ignition switch was easy to sort as the lettering is recessed so you can drop some paint but the switch gear is the similar to the KR. I was thinking that, lettraset then 2k lacquer over the top to protect it

I think a satin finish would give it the factory finish look.
The new finish is not quite gloss.

Bernie have you carried out a Risk Assessment on Retinal Damage and fading of the kitchen units in the garage when the springtime sun hits your bike.

Mind you, I am as blind as a bat without my glasses on (transitions of course)

I am quite pleased with the results, just need to get the finish on the black plastic a bit better

Slow progress at the moment (arm still knackered acupuncture next !)
Just doing little bits (wiring and cleaning small electrical parts).
Will post some photos when I get back home
Still looking for a vgc pilot light unit or top cover.
