Bernie I have used RS Electroplating in north mancester
http://www.rschrome.co.uk
They were ok , very copetitive and i managed to get a 3 week turnaround on about 10 small moped items (bars etc).
You do need to the prep yourself eg rubbing down. I think you would be good at that!

Its a slower than I had hoped for start to 2014, managed to rip my biceps tendons wrestling with a set of French doors, light duties for the next couple of weeks (quote from physio "no picking things up and no screwing things")

Thanks everyone,
Had a look at the side stand bracket....
I thought I would give it a coat of paint stripper, but it did not touch it (no effect at all), so it is going to have to wait till my arm gets better

Mate, I agree with everybody else. The bike looks fantastic. I am keen to know what you are going to do with that lovely polished aluminium? Re polish a lot or are you going to lacquer it?
Wow!

No lacquer, just a bit of canuba wax.
It has all been waxed, so it should stay in that condition for quite a while 12/24 months, by which time it will have already had a repolish

Cheers,
Bernie

Shiney update......
My clipons were slightly bent and they are NLA, also the shouldered bolt that secures the torque arm to the rear caliper mount was scabby (also NLA).
Thanks to Boggy (Rich) here on the forum, both jobs sorted, the finish is fantastic
Thanks Rich =D> =D> =D>

Are those newly made clipons?
Mine has road rash on the end and I was thinking of turning them down a little. I have a lathe, just not sure how i'd go with doing a radius on the ends!

Hi Phil,
Yes, they are newly made (so is the stainless steel bolt).
Cheers

Can't wait till Monday (see the Physio) and hopefully get back to doing a few jobs.
I wish I had taken a lot more photos when I was taking the bike apart (only took 347) and every time I want to confirm something (the way a cable routes etc) it is always the photo I don't have
So I am using my spare time browsing other threads, checking I have got bits right
