Funny I have a piston just like that on my desk in front of me..... :shock:

Mine failed on the other side, maybe we should pool cranks.... :D

Image Yep big end gone !! look at the colour of the conrod base must of been a lot of heat in there !! :shock:

What are the bores like? Looks like a non standard rod, whats the crank like?

Barrels are ok , i had them checked by Lancourts in WsM and tell me they are fine. Big end gone on the left side, the conrod is very tight. Very visible big end collapse.

Hi Kevin,

What is next then?
You have your replacement crank, so is it just making your mind up about the pistons?
I would stick to keeping it simple until you have had a bit of use (and fun) on the bike, there is plenty of time to get a second top end to play with.

Yes i agree Bernie, managed to find some genuine pistons so will be using them initially. Like you say loads of time to play around im just keen to get things up and running.
