Hi Mr Bung,

I would hate to think I eventually trace the fault and then fry another CDI.

Let me know how much you what for it and I'll send you payment.

Many Thanks in advance for your help.

Cheers

Andrew

Update as follows:

I did actually find I was getting a very weak spark. Changed one of the plug lead caps as the screw was corroded the coil lead cores were corroded so I trimmed them back a gnats and cleaned the coil "pins" as they were corroded.

I decided to swap out the regulator just in case :-k .

Cleaned the carbs out and it started after about 10 kicks \:D/ .

Once I got it started found the rev counter didn't work either. I have read this could be caused by a faulty voltage regulator also.

So I recon the root cause of the "non running" was the voltage regulator and the secondary failures were the CDI & rev counter.

Still a few more bits to do but now making pretty good progress.

Cheers all.

throw away that faulty regulater as far away as you can, as soon as possible ...

I didn't do that and it only takes a second to burn another CDI
