Mat,
The RWU forks could well be a good choice, I'm sure Kaze will spread some light on it.
The USD forks do look nice though and are abit stiffer. Just been browsing Ebay and there are a pair of R7 onlins forks there which look sexy as hell.
In the end you all you really need is a good set of fully adjustable cartridge type forks, Its your budget and engineering skills which will ultimatly limit what you can fit.

Doesn't Janbros use rwu zxr750 forks as well?

jep, and very happy with them
they are 43mm, so you need the yokes and handlebars to. calipers are the same, but discs are 310mm (and that's a big improvement, it's much easier to brake hard, 'cause you have to use less force). I use a ZXR wheel , 'cause when I made the change, my hole front was crashed.
what to do :
* length off the stem is ok, top bearring is the same as KR1, but the bottom one is bigger, so I putted in a lath and made it the same length all the way (like a Kr1)
* 750 springs are way too hard, and a bit shorter than KR's. I just cut off a bit off the soft part off a KR spring to make it the same length as the ZXR's, and they go straight in, even though the ZXR has a slightly bigger diameter. and you gaine a bit stiffness
only the outgoing damping is adjustable, but it's definitly an improvement, and since nobody is after them "for the looks", should be found reasonably cheap.

sent my forks to k-tech and got them back today
..... mmmh
..went for the full monty so they should be like new...
will get them in asap,
got my new dunlop a10s as well gone down from 120/60 frt 160 rear,
to 110/70 and 150/60 rear
hopefully this will be noticable in the handling....

I've just got the K-Tech 20SSK piston kit fitted in my ZXR 400 L forks on my KR1S
After a short ride they seem a little over damped so I'll try revalving them soon
I'm using 2.5w 118mm oil level with 0.8 springs liniar
How did you get on with your's Corky?
Anyone have a good shim stack setting?

He sold his KR1S a few years ago to Bruce, who's based in the USA.....
He's racing an R6 now.
