Aftermarket shock
Aftermarket shock
I'm considering an aftermarket shock, seems to be between Wilbers & Hagon. Any advice or experience of either?
Thanks

Re: Aftermarket shock
Jarno is right, the Ohlins one is about £1200.00 compared to £400-800 for the others, you could get your standard one reworked at Manxton or one of the other race companies or refurbished by the Professor here on the forum.

or you could read this :

having a second hand one re-serviced is as good as a new one and cheaper.

Thanks
I did think about a rebuild as I like originality but I'm told my current one is not fixable.
The Swedish option is out of my price range so will flip and Anglo-German coin and see which way it lands....

I run a wilbers on my 3xv. Sublime. Very very impressed. Purchased through ebay germany and it saved me about £100.

Which type do you use? (there appears to be a few to choose from)

I've gone for a basic Wilbers one, about £300. Will let you know how it is.

Re: Aftermarket shock
Mick (kopite30) had his standard shock rebuilt and resprung by a suspension expert at Silverstone, I also had my apparently "non serviceable" LC350 shock rebuilt by MotoX shop, so dont believe everything you read on the net.

Re: Aftermarket shock
The professor made a good job of my KR shock including changing the spring for one that ...ahem...more suits my lightweight frame
If it takes more than 2strokes then your just playing at it..

I use a 631 type with the remote reservoir. It's awesome. Very pleased with it.
