Done and Dusted
Well I'v decided to get my sugar together and send you an up date from OZ.
Finally finished, got it through registration today and cant wait for the weather to clear up so I can go for a ride.
Its been rewarding, frustrating and a complete pain on some occasions. The information from all of the members has been inspirational and helped to keep the motivation up.
She had been standing for four years due to an electrical problem.
56000 km on the clock.
Got the shed sorted made a bench and got started striping her down.(not the wife, the bike)
Lots of carbon build up after 56000km The engine had never been touched.
Been standing for a long time.
Had the rear and front forks serviced, not a bad home paint job on the frame.
The restoration was done on a shoe string budget. All the painting work was done by myself, using standard automotive paints.
Go fast green.
Amazing what you can achieve with a home sandblasting gun using bi carb of soda.
That's what it started as.
Got the colour on now decals then clear.
Taking shape.

This build has nothing to do with me - I was admiring the finished bike as in the first photo.

Re: Done and Dusted
The one with yellow wheels is the next one in line.
Thinking of doing a track bike, up date the suspension with zxr 400 front end and better rear shokabsorber. I've read a lot of articles in the UK magazines where this seems to be the trend.
So long term will have one bike stock standard and one for fun. Seems if you do sell the standard one fetch a hire price. Not that I'll sell in the next ten years. I'm starting a collection got a RGV 250, Kr1S and always on the look out for a NSR 250 and to finish the collection a TZR 250.
It always comes down to avalibl cash, good to have a dream.

Mate, old gold motorcycles (Sydney) have a nice 3ma project at the moment. May be worth putting in the 'to do' line while it's available. On ebay at present.
I have the set now, rgv, nsr, tzr and kr1s.

Re: Done and Dusted
Thanks, Had a look very nice, tempting. To fresh, I love taking bashed up and battered bikes, the renewing them and giving them a second chance, to me that's what is most satisfying.
I do have to rain my self in some times, got a 1988 KDX 200 (ebay $400.00) to do as well.
You going to the Barry Sheen festival of speed in March?

I had a KMX 125 nearly 20 years ago now
Wow time flies -- Really liked it and would love a 200 now. Great fun bikes.
