So i have a set of kr1s calipers and master cylinder but only kr front wheels and forks and no discs . am i right in thinking the discs are the same and i need to make caliper mounts to suit 1s calipers .

i thought i had some kr calipers in the many boxes of bits i have bought but it turns out i have a whole 1s set of calipers and master cylinder and only 3 kr rear calipers . i will need to buy a set of kr calipers for my back to stock bike but my track / sunny day to work bike can have whatever .i also have a 600 srad set of forks that im toying with using as they are just left over from my old track bike but i think they will prove to be far to heavy .

I seem to remember there being a clearance problem running 4 pot calipers with a KR1 front wheel. I think that the caliper would hit the spokes even when running S forks and discs from memory.
Also, I'm pretty sure that the KR1 disc is actually 280mm (perhaps 290mm was a typo?).

I think you are better changing the whole front end to the S arrangement
The KR discs are unique to that model (as far as i am aware) this means
the chances of finding a decent pair after nearly 25 years is pretty
slim. Same with calipers
Trying to combine the KR and S fronts could be expensive as you
would have to fabricate mounting plates and possibly a spindle.Plus you would end up with inferior braking to the S items. I wouldn;t bother
If you want a match you can fit a S rear without any work - this also gives you a wider rim.
