KR1S 500

Post by Stevevrs »

Hi, i recently bought this from Jimmy , originally built by R1Daz.
CR500 power, i have just replaced the right side crankcase due to it being cracked in 5 places and ive had a de-comp valve fitted so i can start the b*stard!
Im gonna spend this summer? sorting out the little problems and take it apart over the winter and repaint etc. Cant decide if i should streetfighter it or fit a fairing? I had a green/black KR years ago and always wanted a red/silver one .

Great to see it back!
I loved this build. If it was mine I would fit a standard fairing and confuse a few people!
Another southern member- we must organise a south area meet up- there are quite a few of us now.
Oh, forgot to say: Welcome!

I doubt that exhaust will fit inside a standard fairing :-k

damned, should get started on my KXR-500 again, but too much other stuff to keep me occupied ](*,)
My ultimate goal is to die young as late as possible !

I'll have to have a measure up for the fairing, i had'nt thought about that  I've seen ya build pic's, looks great.
Ive been in contact with Daz, he's been a great help . I ended up sending the head to a guy in the States to have a de comp valve fitted as the CR lump was impossible to kickstart . The bike now kicks over without the need for a second person to hold the bike down

I think it would look fantastic with a standard fairing, especially in red and grey.
I would imagine after all the effort that Daz went through to fit the CR lump in the frame, modifying a fairing to go around it would be a manageable task :-k
It would certainly finish the project off

Hi Steve,
If you get stuck, I can get some measurements of the internal width of the bellypan and top fairing if you want. (The plastics are not on my bike at the moment).
Cheers,
Bernie :D
