gear change mechanism

Post by dirk »

Hi folks,

i have a stupid question...
I reassemble my engine.
Beside the cam change drum is an holder.
Normally the holder is fastened with 2 screws.
Here is only one.
In the hole no thread is to be seen.
Can I bond a screw (Loctite)?
Or is one screw enough?
I don´t think the load is very high?

Thanks

dirk, try a longer screw as the threads are in further.

If the crankcases are KR-1 then there is no thread (or hole).
Could be a KR-1S gearbox cover and KR-1 cases.
If there is a hole and no thread suspect it has been stripped (thread is in the crankcase not the cover)

Hope that makes sense.

hi

thanks for the answer

In the place no thread is in the housing.
Is that a problem?
If the housing is from a KR1, do the other Kr-1S parts fit?
