balance shaft

Post by kinkyfreestyler »

Hi , I am just rebuilding my kr1 engine and the book says there are punch marks on the crank and balancer shaft but I can't find any ?

So I have set the crank at tdc and the balancer at 180 away from tdc ie. piston up weight furthest away from piston using a mark on the weight level to the casing

is this correct ? looks logical but could any one confirm it for me .

thanks

i find it hard to believe there would be no punch-marks on the gears of the crank and the balancer shaft.

I certainly wouldn't trust what you've done.

Hi everyone ,
Just a little up date on my problem. Well finally started the bike and it runs smooth as !
So you can set it the way I discribed , just in case some one else has no punch mark.
yes I know everyone is shouting there should be punch marks , but there isn't so I made an educated guess and it works :P

Keep riding people and if anyone is near the devils bridge this coming sunday about 11AM we can treat everyone to a smoke and noise show :P
