where to rebuild a crank shaft
Hi,
I've got a crankshaft that needs rebuilding. As few people here in Germany have experience with the KR1S I'd like to rebuild the crank in the UK. Can anyboy recommend a firm to carry this out? I know about Stan Stephans, but heard of some people who weren't satisfied with his work. I've heard of BDK Engineering as well, should I go there? Are there any others which I should consider?
Thanks,
Charles

Hi Charles,
alles klar?
My crankshaft is rebuild by Stan Stephens.
Good work!
I must buy a complete solution, a "new" crank, because it is impossible to buy crankshaft seals!

Hi Dirk,
ist nur eine Ersatzkurbelwelle die ich überholen lassen will.....
crankshaft seals are no longer available?? In Janbros' topic he asks for those seals as well and was told BDK, SEP still provide those seals?
Is this true and Stan just doesn't want to sell them separately?

think there has been a lot of mixed feeling regarding stan stephens work in recent years but to be fair, stan has about 40yrs experience with bike and has tuned race winning kr's since they first arrived in britain. the stories ive heard about seem to be 3rd hand and i think the apprentice's he had were clueless to some degree, not heard any bad work since and im certain he does the work personally now. so here goes for crank rebuilds, SEP of kegworth (did mine), stan stevens, graham file,PJ engineering,BDK (build seriously fast fzr400's aswell as 2strokes, bit dear but very competent race/motorcycle engineers).
