Project KR1SS - So far

Post by gary »

Before & after pictures of my re-built engine.
Its been vapour blasted by Asbury Auto Component Cleaning, the powder coating has been done by Triple S, the crank has been built by BDK. Its been fitted with Makita pistons & has all new bearings, seals & O rings, stainless steel bolts throughout, spitfire plugs fitted also has uprated clutch. The barrels & crank cases have been flowed, the flywheel lightened & has all been blue printed. All beautifully put back together by Martin 'Top Man :D ' He has also re-built the carbs with all new jets & N99 needles he really knows his stuff BIG THANKS \:D/

I would say about £800-£900 worth of work for all that.

it did cost a bit.
crank rebuilt at bdk
new mitaka pistons/rings/small ends/circlips
all cases aqua blasted
complete gasket set
new seals
new bearings

gary did spend a bit on his engine. he has spent loads more on other stuff as well inc suspension/paint/powdercoat.
i have done quite a bit of other stuff for gary including rebuilding his forks and other bits.
his bike will be worth seeing once done

it all depends what you want. sometimes you have to spend a bit to do the job right,

Does that make you a right Shiner Teerex ?

From where I come from the local football team are called 'the Shiners'
Surely not for the same reasons, he he !

Ok ok ok with a nick name like mine I ought to be more careful, cos I've more in keeping with a fat Scooby Doo nowadays than anything else

Looking very nice. Not sure about having the bike in the play room - you might find Lego buried in the tail pipe!
