almost a year since I posted here some news

I'm having too many problems with feeding fuel to the high presure pump, so decided to swap the injection for carbs.

Carbs and rubber manifolds arrived today and had to try them out immediatly : they are a perfect fit (allthough the injection model has slightly different heads) 8)

loom and CDI are also on there way.

Bad news to though : I'l have to redesign the bottom off the tank again ](*,)

Jan wouldn't it be easier to use an in tank pump set up from a VFR800 or similar?

Must be loads of those in the wreckers and if you cut the flange out the VFR tank it would bolt straight in.

Might be easier than re-wiring the whole bike.

Not a bad idea, if you like Jan, i've got a wrecked gixxer1000 tank, you could use de flange. Just ebuy a fuelpump for it.

So far my contribution.

Helloow to you all btw

you need a flat horizontal spot on the bottom off the tank to use an intank pump - which a KR doesn't have . And an RGV neither -I'm using an RGV tank.

I could put it in, but since the pump won't be on the very bottom part off the tank, and it already only has about 12.5l off fuel, I won't be able to use the full capacity off the tank because the pump needs to be submerged all the time. I guess the usable capacity would be less then 10l :(

Looking good the Jan, glad the carbs worked out.

Question what is the upper radiator off?

You said the bottom is off a Gilera Gp50, but I could not find what the upper is.

Cheers

done a +500km trip today : engine runs spotless. only now I start to really apreciate this engine 8) .

but had to have some "minor" problems though :

* ran out off fuel : apparently there is something wrong with the fuel tap, because allthough it was on "on" , the fuel pump sucked the tank completly dry :? luckily just in front off a small garage

* halfway the trip, I blew about 6 fuses. some after 200m, some only after 5 km. found out that if I didn't rev to high , they lasted longer. when I was down to the second last I had (used all the fuses from the lights etc) I made it to a garage and bought 30 to get home, but since leaving the garage, had no more problems, even when revving to 11.000 . looks like the loom needs a strip and thorough inspection :?

but me very happy today 8)

I started this project in april 2005, and as off today , there is nothing more to develop/create/fabricate .... IT'S FINISHED \:D/ :D

I've been busy the last month's with lots off little things : adapting the loom so every wire has the right length, cleaning up brackets and exhaust tubes, making nicer "showable" brackets, making grill's for the radiator's, painting brackett's , .... that sort off stuff.
today I made the last bracket for the fuel pump, had to put it in another place because the fuel lines had to bend too sharp. the paint is drying now, and as off tomorrow when it's on the bike, there is nothing more to do 8) .

now just test-riding it one more season, and next winter a visit to the powdercoater and painting the plastics/fueltank
=P~

if there is no price mentionned, it means I allready had those parts lying arround. the list is the money I spent on the bike, making it as it is right now. costed me about 500-600 euro's more though (buying parts I never used, or were taken off again (like injection parts , CDI, ...)
fair price, considering 99% off the bike is excactly what I want it to be 8)

put the bike on a balance today : 80kg at front, 102 at the back. tank wasn't full, so add +/- 8kg, gives a total off 190kg ready to ride all full.

did the same once with my KR-1S streetfighter, and that one was 145kg.

so it's about 45kg heavier, but it doesn't feel like that (allthough I have to admitt it's been a long while since I rode my stroker  ).
