here is my project

Post by tescr500 »

Hi been on forum for a few weeks now, really enjoy the chat, some good advice so here we go i'll try and upload some photo's of my task ahead.

So as you can see the task ahead is quite a bit to do, got a new generator cleaned carbs out second kick and she fired up, not bad for a bike thats been out in all weather for the last ten years, needs a rebuild sounds like some rusty bearings inside, i'll keep you posted on how things progress cheers for reading wayne.

Ooh, that looks familiar!

Image

It can be done, most of what you can see in that shot has been cleaned up and is being used on my other bike now.
Mine had been sat in a garden for 10 years as well, Carbs were a bit gummed up but the engine was fine.
Forks were a bit past it though.........

Have fun!

body work is ok but i think im going to go with an after market fairing and single seat, as long as it looks good thats fine with me, fairing is cracked at screen belly pan looks ok but need a sray, tail unit ane sides have got lugs missing so not that good, oh and tank is full of rust so a bit to get hold of there, i bought a complete engine at the weekend for a £100 including gene and flywheel, he had a perfect tank to but £60 he wanted fair enough was a good tank but me budget didn't stretch so have to wait for another, supposed to be an s but haven't look at barrels or ought yet but turns over nicely, so 2 engines but going to strip and rebuild 1 of them get the bike finished then rebuild the other at my leisure so things are moving but will be a slow process as finace is only on a week to week basis depending whats left after the bills morgage etc ect cheers wayne.
