Much respect! I've ridden a '79 suzuki RM400 (but im only 18 :D ), and that was awesome, but vibey, and was sucking air somewhere so i sold it.. I've always wanted an AR50! The 500 should be well tuneable, especially with a different pipe.. Just got to watch the big two stroke thingy where they bound forward on a shut throttle... bing, bing, bing.... haha

KX Motor
60-65 hp stock :D
Easily tunable to 80+?? Power Delivery issues? Higher peak means snappier delivery.
Remember that while it doesn't make much more peak HP stock than a tuned KR1, it has so much more torque its not funny

The Beast I build  :
I'm leaving the motor near stock- got a wiseco Hot Rod and forged piston in it,FMF Gnarly Desert, Digital temp guage and Scitsu tacho. Some piston mods ala stewart off the KXriders forum
Work in Progress

I'll look at putting a Pro Circuit pipe and lectron 44mm carb on it, perhaps raise cylinder slightly so It'll rev easier.

You want to mill a groove in the carb, so that the engine doesn't heat up too much when you shut the throttle at revs and bung the needle back into the hole, stopping the flow of fuel- the groove goes from the main jet orifice to the neck... Towards the motor. Got this one off Dennis Ireland. He had a really cool carb off one of his RG500's

He also reckoned that an EGT was the way to go, so that you can fiddle with your carb settings to work on not having it sieze when you shut the throttle...

Good luck with your beast, and enjoy...

looks good, only the front bold for the engine won't go in, bit it's only a matter of 1/10th of mm's.

RGV swing arm, rear suspension WP NSR400, got already ZXR400L forkes ...

but it'll have to wait until my other projects are running

btw : subframe has been cut off with my permission, otherwise it would have been too big/expensive to ship

rebuild the entire rear suspension this WE, since I realised that with my previous design, there was no space left for an airbox , which is absolutly nescassary on certain tracks to keep the noise down.

so redesigned it with an R6 shock, a FZR400 knuckle (I thinck  )and streched tie-bars :

and now there is room for an airbox :D :

and since the KX doesn't need a battery, I'm going to stretch it into the battery case and use al available space under the seat.
