Took it for its MOT yesterday - 7 mile trip each way

A bit nervous as first time out on the road on it and you never know if you will get there

Anyway filled tank half full of petrol at local petrol station - had a look round to make sure worth proceeding and everything seemed okay - bike seemed to be running okay

Stopped at the bank near the MOT station to get some money - and petrol pissing out of one the carbs. Decided to press on with the MOT since i didn't want to have to come back - and turned petrol off a short while before i got there.

Get there and one of the back indicators was also hanging off

They found head bearings slightly loose (adjusted) but i managed to get a pass 8)

Have cleaned out the carbs. and they seem alright

Going to try a different oil in the gearbox as it jumped out of gear a few times

Anyway at least i can ride it now and sort out any problems

Good news mate, I hope you get a good few miles in on it over the Summer.

I hope the box is that simple a fix for you.

Thanks

Can't remember any gearbox problems last time i used this bottom end - will see how it goes

Don't like the bike deciding when to change gear

Any way at least i can try things out now - being restricted to the shed when you are doing a project means you are a bit wary when you
actually come to riding it for the first time.

My Red 1s has its MOT at the end of March. Its allways my first classic out after the winter hibernation. Over the last 3 years I have had fuel leaks on two of the start ups. 2017 and the Ethanol ate the fuel lines , so complete change. 2018 the small prime line to the lhs carb fell off. Great to see fuel running over hot exhaust pipes real twitchy arse time!

So if Im booked for a Sat morning MOT I start prepping on Wednesday!

Glad it’s running how long before the special joins it for a brace of KR’s?
Steve
