Early KR1 CARBS FLOODING

Post by waza1972 »

Hi all, just restoring an F reg KR1 and when the engine stops the left carb leaks from the over flow tube by the exhaust. I took the carb apart and cleaned all the jets and the float valve as they were gummed up because it had been say for years. Put it back together and its now running but when revved its taking a while for the revs to come back to tick over and when you knock it off its still leaking out of the over flow about a minute later. Any help would be great, Cheers Waza.

You need to fully strip the carb, take off the holder secured with the security screws (as it will be full of crap).
Make sure you check/set the float hights before you put them back together.
